WHAT WE DO
Our Activities
Gladstone Festivals and Events is an Association of volunteers who, together with a paid manager and part-time staff, organise and stage major community events, notably the Gladstone Harbour Festival every Easter.
Our Role
To support and promote the Gladstone community by professionally staging the Harbour Festival and other quality events, for the benefit of the local economy and promotion of tourism to the region.
EVENT GOALS
The goals of events staged by GFE are:
- To celebrate the completion of the annual Brisbane to Gladstone Yacht Race.
- To provide a community festival based on the city's harbour and port.
- To promote these attributes to visitors, and enhancing the visitor economy.
- To stage and manage other significant community events.
OUR OBJECTIVES
Including the objectives defined in the Constitution, the Association defines its scope as follows:
- To promote the Gladstone Region, it's harbour, port, marine environment, and district.
- To stage annually the Gladstone Harbour Festival, involving many community groups and organisations, and the business community.
- To highlight and enhance the staging of the annual Brisbane to Gladstone Yacht Race.
- To promote Gladstone and its region as a fine location for living and visiting.
- To promote the region of Central Queensland - its features, its unique attributes, industry, heritage, environment, culture, education and sport.
- To meet all workplace, health and safety requirements for and during the staging of festivals and events.
- To attract income to meet staging and administrative costs.
- To assist such community efforts towards the achievement of these goals.
