HARBOUR FESTIVAL
SUNDAY 28TH MARCH TO SUNDAY 4TH APRIL 2010
The week-long celebration that we have come to know and love as the Gladstone Harbour Festival has a humble past but a very exciting future!
Over 48 years ago the Gladstone Harbour Festival was born - a one-day celebration to greet the winners of the Brisbane to Gladstone Yacht Race as they crossed the finishing line.
The Festival rapidly expanded to seven days and nights, jam-packed with entertainment that we now know as the Gladstone Harbour Festival. The Festival has enjoyed a huge growth, with over 70 000 spectators visiting the annual event. Much of this success can be contributed to the range and quality free entertainment provided at the Festival throughout the entire week.
The Gladstone Regional Ambassador Quest
In 2009 Gladstone Festivals and Events introduced a new quest to replace the Harbour Festival Queen Quest which has been a feature of the festival across many years.
This innovation is titled "The Gladstone Regional Ambassador Quest" and entrants will not be required to fundraise throughout the year.
Entrants are judged prior to the start of the Gladstone Harbour Festival, based on the entrant considered to be the best Ambassador to represent the Gladstone Region.
The winner of the Gladstone Regional Ambassador is announced on opening night of the Gladstone Harbour Festival and will receive some fantastic prizes.
The Junior Queen Quest offers entrants the chance to show off their personality and gain experience in formal presentation and judging as well as having loads of fun and also winning some fantastic prizes.
Entries are open in four different age categories including Junior Princess, Princess, Junior Queen and Teen Queen.
Entrants will be judged prior to the start of the Gladstone Harbour Festival with winners of each category announced on opening night of the Festival.
